Denver Home Prices Up 41.4 Percent from Previous Peak


According to Case Shiller, in May 2017, Denver average home prices reached $456,100, approximately 41.4% higher than the previous Denver peak price of $322,600 in August 2006. Although Metro Denver was more stable than the 20-city composite shown above during the “Great Recession”, Metro Denver has recently experienced growth rates similar to the 20-city composite since early 2012. Below are Metro Denver’s average single-family home prices by year in May. They represents a 17-year average annual increase of 5.8 percent, a 10-year of 4.6 percent, a 3-year of 10.0 percent, and a 1-year average annual increase of 7.9 percent.
